Sanctuary Cabin

We are a thirty something couple who were searching for an (essential) escape and stumbled upon Rachels cabin. We stayed (extended the trip) for a week and a half and I found her to be a very conscious and considerate host, pursuing sustainability with her husband on their beautiful property/working ranch. As many others have mentioned, the cabin is fully equipped and just twenty minutes outside of Ashland. As a winter stay, the highway/roads to the cabin were easy to navigate, even at night and during heavy snow fall. Our vehicle is AWD, so you ventured up in the wintertime without (4x4 or AWD), it's smart to have chains on you. Our favorites were the seclusion, sauna, fireplace, exploring the grounds (view), the location to the PCT, and the proximity to Ashland. We mostly stuck to ourselves and found the stay to be a peaceful and beneficial decompress of all that's come up in the world this past year. Hope to return someday with friends and family. Highly recommend the experience.

Absolutely amazing spot to stay. The setting is perfect...peace filled...beautiful...your heart and your spirit will just be at peace. Make sure you bring your groceries as the store is in Ashland and once you are there you won't want to go back to town because it is so beautiful. There is a great organic market in Ashland that has everything and we would suggest going there. We loved it so much we are returning in May!!

A beautiful, quiet, qaint mountain retreat. When it was raining in town it was a winter wonderland up here. I can't wait to return. Our only refreat is not staying longer!

This cabin is such a gem! Privately and conveniently located in a sanctuary with three adorable rescued mules and thoughtful touch of nature. 20 minutes drive to Table Mountain Snow Park and 30 minutes to the town of Ashland. Well equipped kitchen with filtered drinking water, breakfast bar, comfortable beds and a bookshelf with travel tips and family games. No TV which is a great for us :) WiFi signals are pretty good. There is no central heating but there is a heating unit in the common area and two portable heater in the two bedrooms that provide enough heat on a close snowy night. There is also two heating lamps in the bath and a sauna room that is awesome!! The host responded to our questions and needs fairly quickly. My kids had a blast playing in the snow near the cabin and at the snow park, and getting acquainted with the mules. They already said they want to come back and check out this place again in Summer.

This house was great. My husband, 3 month old daughter and I spent a week at the cabin and had such a nice, relaxing week. We were lucky and it snowed a few times while we were there and it was so beautiful. The house is surrounded by trees and right on the PCT so the views were great and there were nice hikes to do right outside the house. It was really spacious and perfect for cooking big meals and hanging by the fireplace. Only downfall is no dishwasher but it’s not a big deal. My husband worked from home during the week and had no trouble with wifi. The bed was so comfortable and the sauna was great as well. Rachel was quick to respond and even helped us the first night when my husband and I struggled to get a fire started. We would definitely stay here again.

This farm cabin was such an amazing stay for me and my 3 buddies. The pictures of the location/house do not do it justice in the slightest. On top of a mountain and well above the snowline (during our stay), we loved the insanely scenic drive into town, the character of the property, and how removed but accessible Ashland was. Lopi woodstove w/plenty of wood made our winter stay extra cozy. Also was so fun having the 3 goofy mules right outside the door. Will be back for sure!

Our stay here was great , thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and the nature around. The mules add a certain charm to this cabin and it was great waking up every morning and watching them. It was pretty cold during our visit on thanksgiving weekend but the space heaters did a great job of keeping us warm. The views and hiking trails around are breathtaking and it feels like a luxury to just walk to the trailheads. There is no television in the cabin but good wifi exists. So if you like cozying up and Netflix -ing, you might want to bring a laptop (which is what we did) Suggestion - Would suggest to add proper dish soap to clean the dishes! we had a great time disconnecting from life. the hosts are gracious and the place as beautiful as advertised.

Rachel’s cabin is beautiful and having the sauna after a long day of hiking was incredible. Would recommend!
